Requirement Builder

Use the Requirement Builder to compose complex/ad hoc requirements. The Builder implements the full capabilities of Deterministic Phraseology, but is seldom used in practice given the comprehensive set of functional templates (18) provided with Leap SE.

The following sections provide an overview of Leap SE's Requirement Builder.

Example

The following is an example of a functional requirement composed with the Requirement Builder. The Preview button displays the requirement in sentence form. The Paragraph # field is for entering an SRS Paragraph # (if applicable). Clicking on the Save button commits the requirement to the system repository and generates a requirement number, which appears in the Requirement # field.

Getting Started

The Requirement Builder is initially displayed with most fields inaccessible (yellow is read-only). As choices are made from the nine buttons and eight combo boxes, fields are "freed-up" for input. The quickest way to compose a requirement with the Builder is to make all your selections first (freeing up fields for input), and then typing in your requirement as if using a predefined Leap SE template.
